Horse River Fire burning in Boundary Waters
BOUNDARY WATERS, Minn. – The House River Fire is burning about 10-acres in the Boundary Waters.

It is burning just north of Basswood Lake and east of Horse Lake. The fire is in Lake County, close to the county line with St. Louis County.
The fire is 0% contained.
The US Forest Service says, “Aerial resources will scout the fire to help plan for suppression tactics. Visiting rappeler resources will recon the fire for engagement. Access is very poor, so firefighters and public safety is the top priority. Aircraft will be utilized as available.”
It is believed lighting stated the wildfire.
It’s burning in the Kawishiwi Ranger District.
