‘Small Town Girl’ Preps to Film in Northern Minnesota
DULUTH, Minn. – A new indie film is being shot in Northern Minnesota.
The film, titled ‘Small Town Girl’ is a mystery movie.
It focuses on a single mother and her daughter who disappears.
The film looks at the interactions and gossip following the disappearance.
In addition to the filming being done in Minnesota,
Seventy percent of all the crew is from Northern Minnesota.
With sixty percent of the larger speaking roles, and almost all of the extras/background cast being from northern Minnesota.
“One of our priorities with small town girl was to try and utilize the cast and crew in northern Minnesota just as much as possible.” said Bill Cooper, Director and Producer, “A lot of people think that bringing a movie to town means rich Hollywood people that come and do stuff and then leave. And unfortunately, that’s the paradigm in some sort of movies. But in order to sustain a film community, a movie community, you need cast and crew that are trained and ready to work, and also realize that movies now more than ever, are being made all over the place.”
All roles are cast.
They will be filming over 18 days over the summer.
The film will be gore free, and family friendly.
