Duluth East Students Fundraise for National History Day Competition
DULUTH, Minn. – Duluth East students held a project showcase to help raise funds for their trip to Nationals
On Wednesday, May 28, local high school students hosted a fundraiser at the Karpeles Manuscript Museum, showcasing their state and national history day projects. The event aimed to raise money to support their upcoming trip to Washington, D.C., where they will compete in the National History Day competition.
“We’re displaying our History Day projects in order to raise money so that we can go to nationals in Washington, DC,” said Lyla Ronkainen, a Duluth East High student.
This competition encourages students to connect with history, and this year, they were asked to explore the theme “Rights and Responsibilities.” Through hard work and dedication, four students qualified for nationals and will be using the money from the fundraiser to help make their trip possible.
