Duluth Children’s Museum Honored for Outstanding Practice in the Field

DULUTH, Minn. — The Duluth Children’s Museum was honored for Outstanding Practice in the field.

The Association of Children’s Museums chose Duluth Children’s Museum because of its ‘Discovery for All’ initiative.
That initiative provides free access to the museum for those one EBT, WIC, or Medical Assistance.
The award helps them to continue funding and expanding on their outreach to the community.

“We were recognized locally a couple years ago for our efforts, and so to get national recognition for our ability to provide these. Memberships has been really, really cool. So we get to just, I don’t know, share our good work and really make sure that folks know that we have these free memberships available. And this recognition allows us to kind of keep going, keep finding that funding to provide these memberships and to just celebrate the great success we’ve had with this program.” said Drew Jenson, Executive Director of the Duluth Children’s Museum.

Only two other museums were awarded,
Amazement Square for its ‘Everyone is Special’ program,
and Chicago Children’s Museum for its ‘Curiosity Classrooms’.
