MnDOT Begins Highway 37 Upgrades, Closes Fraser Road Access Through July 2

Work Zone Sign File

DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has launched a project to improve intersections along Highway 37, focusing on County Road 137/Spirit Lake Road and County Road 661/Fraser Road. The work includes widening the highway to add dedicated left and right turn lanes at both intersections.

As part of the construction, access to County Road 661/Fraser Road from Highway 37 is currently closed and will remain so through July 2. During this period, traffic will be detoured via County Road 25 to Town Line Road and back to Fraser Road.

MnDOT also noted that a future detour will be required for Spirit Lake Road, though a specific date has not yet been announced. Importantly, through traffic on Highway 37 will be maintained for the duration of the project.

Motorists are encouraged to review the detour map and find more project details at MnDOT’s official project website: Highway 37 Intersection Improvements.
