With Expansion Teams Lurking, Ottawa Charge Select Gabbie Hughes as 4th Protected Player

Hughes will enter her 3rd season in Ottawa.

DULUTH, Minn.- The PWHL’s two newest teams, Vancouver and Seattle, have had the chance to sign players from the other six teams in this league this week.

We now know that one former Bulldog will stay put with her current squad.

On Thursday, the Ottawa Charge selected Gabbie Hughes as their fourth protected player.

Teams are able to protect more players if Seattle or Vancouver signs another one of their players.

Hughes will enter her 3rd season in Ottawa.

In other PWHL news, The Minnesota Frost have already lost Claire Thompson and Sophie Jaques to Vancouver.
