‘Boys and Girls Club of the Northland’ Kicks Off Summer Events
GARY NEW DULUTH, Minn.– The sun is shining, and school is done for the year.
With that, there are many opportunities opening up to get kids outside.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Northland is kicking off their summer festivities.
Children who are 6-18 can participate, and the program is described as “fun with a purpose”
Kids involved can look forward to a summer filled with gardening, science, reading challenges, and outdoor sports.
The Gary New Duluth REC site is catering to the outdoor opportunities for the second year this summer.
“We’re looking to instill a lifelong love of learning skills that they can take into their adult lives to be caring, productive, responsible citizens. And, you know, over the summer, there’s, they’re not going to school like they normally do, so they it’s either sit inside maybe and play video games, or come hang out with some friends, do some fun activities and connect with a caring adult,” said Emily Burnside, Chief Operating Officer at the Boys and Girls Club of the Northland.
To get involved with the Boys and Girls Club of the Northland, there’s a$20 membership fee that goes all the way to December.
