Lincoln Park Farmers Market Starts

DULUTH, Minn. — The Lincoln Park Farmers Market is back for the summer!

Thursday was opening day for the Lincoln Park Farmers Market at Harrison Park.

The market featured local vendors selling food, crafts, health products, and other goods.

This farmers market works with those participating in the SNAP benefits and the Power of Produce program to increase access to fresh food.

“We are so excited to get a grant from the Department of Ag to help support our food access work, specifically our Nutrition Incentive Program where folks who have EBT cards can swipe their card for $15 and actually get $40 to spend with our vendors on anything EBT eligible,” said Kayla Pridmore, the seeds of success program manager at Community Action Duluth. “We also offer a power produce program where anyone over 60 or under 18 gets $4 to spend on produce every time they come to the market.”

Although Community Action Duluth received a grant from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture there are federal funding freezes which is still causing them challenges.
