Fairlawn Mansion Releases Coloring Book, Proceeds Supporting Restoration Efforts
SUPERIOR, Wis. — A coloring book is now available at Fairlawn Mansion, featuring its historic beauty.
Bella Olson, a tour guide at Fairlawn, created the coloring book inspired by the historic items in the mansion.
The project was over a year in the making, involving taking pictures, drawing and designing the book.
Proceeds from the $10 book will fund restoration efforts, particularly Grace Pattison’s bedroom.
Bella says she has always loved art, and was inspired by the beauty of Fairlawn to create the book.
“One day I walked in and was looking at all the things that we have here, and I was like, this would make a really cool coloring book,” Olson said. “And I’ve always loved art and coloring things, and I knew I would have loved it when I was a kid, and I went to my boss, Jordan to talk to her about it and she’s like, do it. And so this has been a year in the making, just trying to put it all together.”
The manager of Fairlawn says it has been rewarding to see the coloring book come to fruition.
“It was so incredible to see it’s amazing to see young people being able to follow their passions and share their abilities with amazing historic places like this, where the community gets to enjoy and just seeing the final product was just it was so gratifying to be able to kind of see it all come together,” Jordon Stish, Manager of Fairlawn Mansion said.
The coloring book is available in the gift shop at the mansion and will be available online, with all proceeds supporting the restoration efforts.
