Multiday standoff in Sawyer County comes to an end

 

UPDATE: The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office says at 3:27 p.m. Monday they took the suspect into custody without further incident.

The Sheriff’ Office they will provide further information on what happened on Tuesday.

ROUND LAKE, Wis. – The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office is involved in a standoff with someone in the Town of Round Lake.

The Sheriff’s Office is reporting around noon on Sunday, June 15 a person entered an unoccupied residence on Sun n Sno Road in the Town of Round Lake.

That area is about 10-miles east of Hayward off the northern shores of Round Lake.

The Sheriff’s Office says the owners of the property “have no affiliation with the subject.”

The initial call to the Sheriff’s Office said the person in the home was armed with multiple firearms.

The Sheriff Office reports negotiations are on-going with the person in the home and it is an active scene.

The Sheriff’s Office says there is no reported danger to the public in general, as the person “is contained inside the residence.”

The public is asked to avoid the area around Sun n Sno Road.
