Park Point Recreation Area Plan Calls for Community Input
DULUTH, Minn. – The city of Duluth is in the beginning stages of getting public feedback on the future of Park Point’s recreational area at the end of the point.
People met at the Lafayette Community Center to share ideas and thoughts regarding the future of Park Point’s recreational area at the end of the point. Duluth Parks and Recreation was there to discuss the goals that community members envision for the property, which include ecological health, sustainability, reinvestment, and a sense of place.
“We are doing a new plan for the rec area, and today, we’re just looking to get input from people about what they love about the Park Point rec area today, what they hope to see there in the future,” said Katie Bennett, senior parks planner at Duluth Parks and Recreation. “We’re collecting ideas from as many people as possible, and just trying to see what priorities rise to the top.”
Duluth Parks and Recreation would like to see people beyond Park Point share input using the online survey, which is open through June 22.
