BRIMSON/FAIRBANKS TOWNSHIPS, Minn. — Next week the St. Louis County Assessor’s Department will start inspections of wildfire damaged properties by the Camp House and Jenkins Creek fires.

Staff will begin their inspections to home and property owners in Brimson and Fairbanks Township to determine the estimated market value of fire damage and the percent of damage that occurred.

Property owners may be eligible for property tax relief if fire damage is 50-percent or more of its value.

Properties qualifying for tax relief will be mailed an application form from the county Assessor’s Department.

The damage assessment is expected to take several weeks.
