Frisbie Holds Off Popehn Again, Smith Wins in Bjorklund Debut

The friendly rivalry between Annie Frisbie and Dakotah Popehn added another chapter on Saturday at the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.

DULUTH, Minn.- The friendly rivalry between Annie Frisbie and Dakotah Popehn added another chapter on Saturday at the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.

For the 2nd straight year, Frisbie was able to get the best of Popehn, winning for the women with a time of 1:09:05, which was eight seconds ahead of Popehn.

Over on the men’s side, quite the debut for Murphy Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina. He takes top honors with a time of 1:02:49.

Smith just wrapped up his collegiate career at the United States Naval Academy.
