Sanclemente Repeats as Men’s Wheelchair Champion, De Souza Takes Women’s Title

Sanclemente held off five-time champion Aaron Pike by just 48 seconds.

DULUTH, Minn.- For the 2nd straight year, Luis Francisco Sanclemente was able to claim the Grandma’s Marathon male wheelchair title.

He held off five-time champion Aaron Pike by just 48 seconds.

Sanclemente finished with a time of 1:26:02.

Over on the women’s side, there was a new champion as Vanessa Cristina de Souza took top honors with a time of 1:39:55.

Saturday marked her first Grandma’s Marathon appearance.
