Damage Assessment Begins on Properties Affected by Brimson Fire Complex
BRIMSON, Minn. — St. Louis County Assessors are going to start apprising property damage from the Jenkins Creek and Camp House fires.
Staff are beginning the process in Brimson and Fairbanks Township today.
They will be assessing and documenting the level of damage, which will be used to determine the percentage of value lost.
Owners could get property tax relief if the property has lost 50% or more of its value or if the property is homesteaded.
Properties that qualify will be mailed a form and instructions from the St. Louis County Assessor’s Office.
The assessment process is expected to take several weeks.
Property owners in the area with questions should contact the St. Louis County Assessor’s office.
