Spooner Rodeo Royalty Talks Upcoming Rodeo
SPOONER, Wisc. and DULUTH, Minn. — The Spooner Rodeo kicks off July 10th and excitement is building.
As one of the most iconic midwestern rodeos, Spooner Rodeo is known for being three days of thrilling competition.
Participants can earn their entry into other rodeos and potentially make their way to nationals in Las Vegas.
Locally though, it’s a fun family friendly event that really means a lot to the locals.
Visitors come to spooner from all over to enjoy the rodeo, watch the parade and meet the royalty.
The Rodeo Queen and Princess visited our studio today to discuss what it means to hold their titles.
“We are ambassadors for Spooner rodeo. We really are the faces of the rodeo. So, we want to go out there and promote it and show those little girls like what they can do, who they can become, and who we are really to the people.” said Hannah Johnson, Spooner Rodeo Queen.
While attendees certainly look forward to the thrills and spills, there is a wide variety of entertainment to look forward to.
They’ll have vendors, food, prizes, and more.
“We also have some of our entertainment come in, like John Payne, the One-Armed Bandit. He brings his entertainment through town with the parade, and then you get to also see him during the rodeo. So, we also have our clown, and he’s pretty funny, Gizmo McCracken, and then, of course, Kelly Kenny, the announcer. He’s really great at doing that.” said Savanna Siwicki, Spooner Rodeo Princess.
The Rodeo does have limited tickets, and they do sell out fast.
Thursday July 10th is Coca-Cola Family night where two adults and up to five kids can get in for $45.
There are also three day passes available.
It’s recommended to buy tickets and passes as early as possible.
