The Blue Angels Prepping for the 2025 Duluth Air Show
DULUTH, Minn. — Anyone that’s been in Duluth long enough knows the roar of the Blue Angels’ jets racing across the sky.
Thousands will gather at the Airport this weekend, to watch as they perform dazzling stunts.
They’ll do practice runs throughout today and tomorrow, getting a lay of the land before the big event.
But, before the practice runs started, performers got to spend the past few days exploring Duluth.
“The weather was a little sketchy on the way in, but we did a couple of little like tours of the Bay Area. Did a fly-by of the of the lift bridge before coming in here to the area. And it was gorgeous. First thing I noticed was how late the sun stayed up, which is quite a bit different than where we’re from in Florida. But the weather was absolutely awesome once we got to the airport here, after we got past the storms, it was fantastic.” said Lieutenant Commander Wes Perkins, USN – Blue Angels.
Each performance is a team effort, requiring communication, coordination, and a lot of hard work.
The dedication pays off as a major inspiration to many in the area.
“Just, no matter what you’re doing in life, just strive for greatness. That’s the whole point of our command. Is just, you know, be really good at what you do, and try to be the best that you can be at all times.” said AD1 Richard Wiese, USN – Blue Angels.
The Duluth Air Show runs this Saturday and Sunday.
