LSC Awarded Grant to Develop Unique Program for Students with Disabilities

DULUTH, Minn. — Lake Superior College has received a significant grant to support the development of a new Program for Accessible College Education, called PACE for short.Lscgradfair
The Minnesota Office of Higher Education awarded LSC over $185,000.

LSC is one of only three grantees awarded funding statewide.

According to the press release, this is the first program of its kind in northeastern Minnesota.

It’s designed to provide inclusive post-secondary opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

LSC also announced Erin Thompson as the Coordinator of the PACE Program.

Thompson has vast expirience in disability services and advocacy.

The PACE Program plans to welcome its first pilot students in January 2026 and a small group of students in Fall 2026.
