The DECC Goes to the Dogs for the DKC All Breed Dog Show
DULUTH, Minn. — The DECC is Paws-itively filled with dogs for the Duluth Kennel Club All Breed Dog Show.
Over one hundred and fifty breeds will be competing for Best in Show.
This is the largest dog sporting event in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The show has competitors compete for the best in their breed.
Then it’s on to competing in groups such as sporting Dog, Toy Dog, and so on.
Lastly, they’ll compete for best in show.
“Dog shows are a place where anybody can play the game. They’re very inclusive. Just about anybody can show their dog. They’ll make accommodations for you. I’ve seen people show with walkers. I’ve seen people show with wheelchairs.” Ron Mckinnon, Owner/Handler of ‘Fiver’
Confirmation shows like this one only allow pure breeds, since they are judging for breed standard.
However, the American Kennel Club does allow breed mixes in other types of competitions such as obedience, agility, and so on.
They even have a quiz to find the right sport for your dog.
