Special Duluth City Council Meeting Held, Three Resolutions Approved
DULUTH, Minn. — A special meeting of the Duluth City Council was held today to discuss three proposed resolutions.
The council heard two resolutions related to the Village Place Apartments, a mixed-income housing project in Duluth.
Those resolutions are an agreement to extended a final loan payment with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by one year.
With the loan’s balloon payment of just over $2.5 million due next month, a one-year extension allows more time to preserve the property’s affordable housing status.
The third resolution establishes a procedure for selecting a candidate to fill the vacancy of the second district seat.
All three resolutions were approved unanimously.
