WISCONSIN — Governer Evers granted 204 pardons today, July 25th, bringing his total pardons during his tenure to 1,640.

Most of those pardoned did the crime in their late teens and 20s, and these pardons come more than a decade later.

Some even up to 4 and 5 decades later.

In the announcement, Governer Evers said “I am proud to have given a second chance to over 1,600 individuals over the last six years. These folks have worked to build lives for themselves beyond their past offenses. After decades of hard work for many of them to make amends and give back, I am glad they will have the chance at a fresh start.”

The pardons restore rights such as serving on a jury or holding public office.

Individuals currently required to register on the sex offender registry are ineligible for a pardon.

Information about the pardon process can be found on the governor’s website.

The list of the individuals pardoned can be found here, pardons do not expunge court records.
