It’s the second year they’ve planted more than 2 million seedlings and a record number for the organization.

Over 5,000 of those trees were planted in the area devastated by the Camp House Fire.

The Nature Conservancy carefully selected trees species that will thrive and enhance the health of the forest.

This year, the team planted 14 different native and climate-hardy tree species, including white pine, white spruce, red pine, jack pine, red oak and yellow birch.

TNC in Minnesota has planted more than 13 million trees since 2005 to benefit people and nature.

Crews will continue to tend to these seedlings for years to come to ensure resilience and longevity.
