New Head Coach & New Offense for Esko Football Team in 2025

Esko kicks off their 2025 regular season on August 28th at Pequot Lakes.

ESKO, Minn.- For the first time since the 2016 season, the Esko football team has a new head coach.

Jeremy Zywicki officially took the helm earlier this week as the team held their first couple of practices.

He’s no stranger though as Zywicki has served as an assistant coach for Esko since 2022.

His familiarity with the program plus a number of other assistant coaches returning has the new head coach confident in a smooth transition.

“These guys have been here, some of them a lot longer than me. I have been working with these guys the last three years and they play a crucial role in our program. Without these guys, it would be near impossible to make all this happen. So, all these assistant coaches that we have here are critical in what we’re trying to do and play a crucial role in Esko football. I appreciate each and every one of them everyday,” said Zywicki.

Even with the familiarity on the coaching staff, there still will be one change, a new offense.

“New offense my senior season is definitely new. But with the players we have, it’s definiely I think the right choice. It’s been a process but throughout it’s been going pretty well so far and I think when we have the pieces together it’s going to work really well,” said senior Graham Harlieb.

“We’ve been out here in June and July working on that and trying to work the kinks out and put that together so we’re ready for day 1 and that first game on August 28th. So, really that offensive system is really what we’ve been focused on,” added Zywicki.
