August 12th Primary Election Results
DULUTH, Minn. & TWO HARBORS, Minn. — August 13ths primaries narrowed the pools of candidates for seats on City Councils and School boards.
For the Duluth Council Member At Large (Elect 2):
- Terese Tomanek had the most votes at 3,192 (34.25%)
- Jordon Johnson came next with 2,468 (26.48%)
- Derek Medved fell a fairly close third with 2,129 (22.84%)
- Asher Estrin-Haire took 811 (8.70%)
- Zachary Davis Moder had 721 (7.74%)
Tomanek and Johnson will face off in the November Election.
In the race for Duluth’s District 2 Council Member Seat:
- Diane Desotelle took the majority with 1,055 votes (79.92%)
- Christopher Adatte in second with 224 votes (16.97%)
- and Pierre Tournier with 41 votes (3.11%)
Desotelle and Adatte will face off in the November Election.
For the Duluth School Board Member At Large (ISD #709) (Elect 2):
- Amber Sadowski with 3,036 votes (33.04%)
- Kelly Durick Eder with 2,680 (29.16%)
- Harry Welty with 1,477 (16.07%)
- Loren Martell with 1,027 (11.18%)
- and Jane Diane Hoffman with 970 votes (10.55%)
Sadowski, Durick Eder, Welty, and Martell will move on to the November election.
Up the shore there was a special election for the Two harbors Council Member At Large:
- Donna Heil took the majority with 255 votes (54.37%)
- Laura Osbakken Goutermont at a close second with 213 (45.42%)
Heil will fill the Open At Large Seat.
