Duluth East Football Ready to Build on Last Season’s Learning Experience
The Greyhounds enter year two under head coach Blane Tetreault.
DULUTH, Minn.- Ordean Stadium was buzzing on Friday morning as the Duluth East football team wrapped up their first week of full practice.
The Greyhounds enter year two under head coach Blane Tetreault.
In coach Tetreault’s first year at the helm, Duluth East went 2-7 after starting out the year 2-0.
With a new season beginning, the Duluth East coaching staff and players are taking what they learned from last season to make a big jump in year two.
“I think with most organizations year two will be a vast improvement over year one. I am feeling that and sensing that right now for us with just everybody being on the same page a little bit more, said Tetreault.” I will say the one biggest thing that impacted our season last year was our inability to hold on to the football. We turned the ball over a lot. So, if we did nothing more this year than, not turning the ball over and maybe create some more turnovers, if we did nothing more than that we would win twice as many games this season.”
As the Greyhounds get more reps under their belt from summer camp, the team understands they need to stay focused on their goals.
“This is our second year with the new coach and the new program and already where we are at now is like five times as far as we were last year. So, I feel super confident about that. We got a great group of guys, we kept a lot of people who were really good on our team last year and I think that if we stay locked like we are now we can have a great season,” said Greyhounds offensive linemen Cason Pitrago.
Duluth East begins their season on Thursday August 28th at Rock Ridge.
Kickoff is at 7 pm.
