Interim Executive Director named to Lake Superior Zoo
DULUTH, Min. – The Lake Superior Zoo Board of Directors has announced Noah Hobbs as its Interim Executive Director.
Hobbs will take the role effective August 25, 2025.
Lake Superior Zoo Board President James Lewis said in the announcement, “Noah brings a unique blend of local knowledge, community connection, and proven leadership… His deep roots in Duluth and his commitment to making our city thrive make him an ideal leader to guide the Zoo through this transition.”
Hobbs said, “The Lake Superior Zoo holds a special place in my heart, and after almost ten years on the board, I’m thrilled to take on a more active role as Interim Director. With over a decade of management experience, my primary goal is to support our incredible staff and continue the great momentum established under Haley Hedstrom’s leadership.”

The Lake Superior Zoo Board will begin a formal search for a permanent Executive Director in the coming months.
