Concerts on the Pier to be Extended
DULUTH, Minn. – People gathered at Glensheen for the last regularly scheduled concert on the pier event.
Throughout the summer, people have been attending the free concert series every Wednesday except for two, which are Superior Siren with Jumpsuit and Big Wave Dave and
The Ripples with Born Too Late. The two concerts were canceled due to weather, but they’ll close out the season with an extended series into September.
“I think that the environment is just warm and welcoming and brings the community together, no matter what kind of music they’re playing, people from all edges of Duluth show up,” said Kennedy Hawk.
The concerts serve as a way for people to get out into the community at no cost while supporting local musicians, like singer-songwriter Sophie Hiroko.
“I think it’s really beautiful of Glensheen and the U of M to be providing this space for us to all enjoy each other’s company and enjoy music together, and also like a sense of community here at Glensheen in the nice, like Central Lakeside area,” said Hiroko.
If you were unable to attend any of the previous concerts, there will be two next week on Sept. 3 and 9.
