Oil spill triggers Coast Guard response in Duluth Harbor

 

DULUTH, Minn. — An oil spill in Duluth harbor on Tuesday morning triggered a Coast Guard response and cleanup.

The spill occurred at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

According to Coast Guard officials, the diesel oil spill happened during a fuel transfer to a ship, where approximately 15-30 gallons of oil were spilled into the port.

Officials say the area was secured and cleaned, and the port remains open.

The cause of the spill is still under investigation
