Dual Training Pipeline Offers New Opportunities to Employers

Htown Workforce TraininHERMANTOWN, Minn. — Hermantown employers got together at the Chamber of Commerce to learn about the Minnesota Dual Training pipeline.

This program helps employees to get on the job training while getting formal instruction to grow within the industry.

Employers participating can apply for a grant to aid with related costs.

The industries this program focuses on are high-growth industries, such as Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture, Health care, and more.

“I think it’s really important to create these opportunities for specifically smaller employers that really need that extra support. They’re kind of in that, you know, that middle ground of, you know, not quite big enough to expand yet need to expand so, so it really helps in that capacity. But I think also larger employers too, just trying to help the workforce and bring in different employees through different opportunity streams.” said Kimberly Parmeter, President and CEO of the Hermantown Area Chamber of Commerce.

While today’s session was for Hermantown businesses and employers, the grant program open to employers across Minnesota.
