Oktoberfest Celebrated at Bayfront Park
DULUTH, Minn. – The annual Oktoberfest celebration wrapped up at Bayfront Park today after a weekend filled with all things German.
The weekend-long festival brings German heritage to life through authentic food, imported beer, live music, stein-holding contests, yard games, and, of course, bringing the fest to a close with the Dachshund Derby. Locals say, although there is great beer, it’s about coming together to enjoy good company while celebrating.
“There’s all kinds of cultures, not just German and Swedish here,” said Vicky Bergman, attendee. “There’s all kinds of people, all kinds of relationships, all kinds of families. There’s young, there’s old. It is anybody and everybody who wants to come and just join in our community today.”
From Wiener Schnitzel to Steins Oktoberfest brings a taste of Bavarian tradition to the Northland each year.
