Behind the Scenes Tour of Second Harvest Northland

DULUTH, Minn. — September is Hunger action Month and Second Harvest Northland celebrated by holding a tour of their facility here in Duluth.

Over 24 supporters attended the tour, making it the largest tour of the new facility yet.

The behind-the-scenes tour gives people a sneak peek at what it takes to feed the northland and what’s coming next.

“We are about to start phase two of our facility construction project, which is going to include a market where people can come in and shop for their groceries. We had Royal and Karen Alworth with us today that announced their $500,000 match. Through year end, any individuals can contribute to our campaign and have a match Miners, Inc, Super One Foods and the Miner family are also offering a match on corporate donations” Shaye Moris, President and CEO of Second Harvest Northland.

All donations, made until December 31st, will count towards that match campaign for Nourish the Northland.

The next Behind the Scenes tour is Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at noon.

The tours are open to the public, but they do request that you RSVP to attend the tour.
