TOWER, Minn. — Bikers are gearing up for the 3rd annual Tomassoni Tour this weekend

ALS nonprofit Never Surrender Inc. named the late tour after Minnesota Senator David Tomassoni, who died from ALS in 2022.

To continue his legacy, 100 riders will hit the Mesabi Trail on Friday during the cycle for ALS.

Cyclists can participate in a full or half ride on the trail that spans from Grand rapids to Ely.

Before he passed, Tomassoni was able to secure $25 million in funding for the ALS community in the state of Minnesota

“$5 million of that went to patient care, the other $20 million is being used for research. So the event is after him, his legacy and all the great work he did up on the Iron Range and to help people throughout the state of Minnesota that are battling this terrible disease,” David Kolquist, Never Surrender Inc. President said.

The goal is to raise $300,000 this year to support ALS patients and their families.

You can still reserve a spot at the banquet dinner on Saturday or check out the online auction.
