Lake Superior Zoo launches animal trading cards program

DULUTH, Min. – The Lake Superior Zoo now has a 2025–2026 trading card collection.

It features 15 animals including: Alaskan brown bear, axolotl, bald eagle, Burmese python, capybara, caribou, Chilean rose-haired tarantula, coyote, North American river otter, pygmy slow loris, red-footed tortoise, red panda, ring-tailed lemur, sand cat, and three-banded armadillo.

You can get the cards by completing Conservation Quests.

The Charles and Carolyn Russell Family Foundation and the Lake Superior Zoo are teaming-up to make it happen.

It’s a year-round program designed for explorers of all ages.

From scavenger hunts at the zoo to art projects and service challenges at home with every completed challenge, participants can swing by the zoo’s gift shop to claim an exclusive trading card.

These cards are not available for purchase and there is a limited supply.

New challenges and cards will be released every few weeks, so stay updated by checking the zoo’s website, following on social media or ask Zoo staff when you visit.
