Study Highlights Strong Housing Demand in Duluth
DULUTH, Minn.– The results of a 2025 housing study was presented in Duluth today.
The Maxfield housing study is conducted every five years for the city of Duluth.
And the results show, that before 20-5, Duluth has a demand for over 8,000 housing units before 2035.
During the presentation, Duluth housing officials are collaborating with staff and partners to create an action plan.
The progress of this plan can be viewed at the city of Duluth website.
“It puts a number to the scale of the demand that we have for housing in the city of Duluth. And so, you know, 8713 units sounds pretty daunting, but what’s helpful is a to have a target, but B, this study also breaks down kind of exactly what kinds of housing is needed and whether it breaks it down by rental by affordability level,” explained Tom Church, Senior Housing Developer, City of Duluth.
On November 14th the Duluth housing strategies conference will be taking place at the DECC.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is needed.
