Donate Downtown Helps Fill the Need for Blood

DULUTH, Minn. — Downtown businesses have come together to support blood donations in the Twin Ports.

The Memorial Blood Bus will be parked outside of one of the 8 currently participating businesses every 8 weeks.

8 weeks being the safe minimum amount of time you can go between donations.

Wednesday, September 24th, the bus was parked outside the Giant office across from the Holiday Center.

Participants were entered to win a gift basket worth over 500 dollars.

“It is such a gift to have these companies come together and collaborate on our life saving mission. We need blood every single day. Emergencies happen every single day and having this group of people come together to fill our blood mobile every eight weeks is such a gift to us at Memorial blood centers.” said Michele Keil, Senior Account Manager for Memorial Blood Centers.

The next Donate Downtown drive is Thursday November 20th.

You’ll find the blood mobile parked outside the Allete Building.

The Donate Downtown Coalition as it’s called includes Giant, Enbridge, Lake Superior Consulting, LHB, Allete, Northwestern Mutual, Maurices, and the Duluth Chamber of Commerce.
