DULUTH, Minn. – Sept. 27, 2025, marks ten years since indigenous woman Sheila St. Clair went missing from her home in Duluth.

To honor her memory and highlight the ongoing crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People, organizers are hosting a remembrance ceremony for Sheila. This event is intended to bring the community together to support and empathize with victims, families, and all those impacted.

“The Native community is small, and if somebody goes missing, I might not know that person, but I’ll know somebody from their family, so and like Sheila, she’s somebody’s mother, somebody’s auntie, somebody’s grandmother, and, you know, it’s, it’s painful to have something like that missing from your family,” said organizer Shawn Carr.

The ceremony will take place at AICHO in Duluth from 10 am until 2 pm and will include speakers, a smudge walk, food, and poster making. The event is open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend and show their support.

Organizers urge the public to come forward with any information that may be helpful for Sheila’s case. A reward is being offered with the updated amount to be announced during the ceremony.
