Successful Chum September Sock Drive with Barbie’s Dream Homes Realtor
DULUTH, Minn. — A local realtor teamed up with Chum to host a September sock drive to help those in need.
Barbie’s Dream Homes of Edmunds Realty has collected around 1,500 pairs of socks this month during the drive.
Community members have dropped off socks of all types and sizes, all going towards individuals and families in need.
With cold months around the corner, socks are one of the most highly requested items by shelters, but are often overlooked in donations.
Many people have also made monetary donations to support Chum in providing warm clothing.
“As a real estate agent, my job isn’t just about selling houses. I’m really passionate about this community that I get to live and work in as well as raise my family in, and so it’s really it’s really impactful to be able to do something really simple that is going to make a difference for thousands of people here in Duluth,” Barbie Broten, Barbie’s Dream Homes, Edmunds Realty said.
You can still drop off socks at Edmunds Realty until the end of the month, or make donations directly to Chum.
