Duluth Police: Fight Ends With Man Shot By ‘Fearful’ Woman

DULUTH, Minn. – Duluth police are investigating a shooting in the city’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

The call for help came in around 4 a.m. Sunday in the 2300 block of West 7th Street.

“Initial information is a physical alteration occurred between a 39-year-old female and a 38-year-old male inside a home,” according to the department’s public information officer.

A 45-year-old woman inside the residence was “fearful and discharged a firearm, shooting the 38-year-old male in the leg,” according to police.

The man received non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

A search warrant was issued inside the residence. Investigators found a firearm and a casing.

The shooter was not immediately arrested, according to the department.

All parties are known to each other.

The investigation is being sent to the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office for possible charges.

Meanwhile, a witness who lives nearby to the scene told FOX 21 that they saw the fight unfold in a doorway on the second floor in the back of the house before hearing three shots fired. The witness said the man who was shot tumbled down the stairs and into the yard.”
