Fall Flavors Shine at 4th Annual Dixon’s Applepalooza
DULUTH, Minn. – The fourth annual Dixon’s Applepalooza welcoming fall with flavor and fun all weekend long at the Beaver River Farm Wedding and Events.
People gathering for the free, family-friendly festival to kick off the fall season with truckloads of apples from the Dixon Apple Orchard, based in Cadott, Wisconsin. Every year, the weekend-long celebration is held on the Beaver River Farm, where people can enjoy the open space and get up close with a variety of farm animals. The festivities include hayrides, food trucks, vendors, horse rides, and live music, all in celebration of the fall season.
“We have four different varieties this year, and our own patent and variety, which is the champagne; we have Honeycrisp, and Cortland, and Macintosh,” said Luke Mullane, owner of Dixon’s Apple Orchard. “I think people in the Northland are craving the fresh fruit, and we’re so happy to bring it up here and share it with the people up here.”
The apples are also sold at both the co-ops here in Duluth as well as some farmers’ markets, allowing people all across the area access to fresh fruit.
“It’s nice to share it with people between the apples and the vendors and the food trucks, it makes for a great, great weekend,” said Kathryn Pearson, owner of Beaver River Farm Wedding and Events.
The owners say the farm hosted hundreds of people this weekend, making for a great start to the fall season.
