Grandma’s Marathon Hosts Registration Event Ahead Of 50th Race
DULUTH, Minn. — While Northlanders are beginning to prepare for winter, Grandma’s Marathon is already looking ahead to next summer’s milestone event- The 50th annual race.
Today, runners gathering at the Dovetail Cafe for the first day of registration for the race. The event kicked off with a group run hosted by the Tortoise and Hare run club, followed by the official registration, a Q&A session, and a raffle, all leading up to what may be the largest Grandma’s Marathon in history.
“It’s just a good way to celebrate our registration opening another year of Grandma’s Marathon,” said Zach Schneider, Marketing and PR Director, Grandma’s Marathon. “It’s also really exciting to know that, really, at the same time tonight, from all areas of the country, even all over the world, people are trying to do the exact same thing, and that’s get to Duluth and get to Grandma’s marathon.”
Registration is currently open to the public online, and organizers expect over 20,000 runners to register and participate in the event’s 50th anniversary.
