“Haunted Ship” Celebrates 30 Years of Scares

DULUTH, Minn. — Duluth’s favorite spooky attraction is celebrating 3 decades of frights.

The William A. Irvin “Haunted Ship” pulling out all the stops to mark the occasion.

“30 years is an amazing milestone to, every year, pull together 50 actors, dozens of set designers, a whole community of people are needed to create everything that you come and experience here,” said Lucie Amundsen, the DECC’s director of communication.

While the experience is one-of-a-kind, the ship still has specific scares for any thrill seekers.

“They’re really trying to touch on everything that can possibly scare you, so everything from dreaded clowns, to dark spaces to tight places and a lot of unexpected things,” said Amundsen.

The attraction was recently named as one of the very top spooky stops in the nation, and the amount of care everyone is exactly what makes the floating spectacle special.

“What I love is that if you can take the time to look at the details, there’s so many layers of details, like in the jars, are all kinds of spooky things to go through a library, and there’s stained glass that was made specifically for the haunt,” said Amundsen.

Tickets for the ship can be found at the attraction’s website.
