Glensheen Hosts First Children’s Day

DULUTH, Minn. — Families gathering for some fall fun at Glensheen’s first-ever Fall Children’s Day.

The family-friendly event is geared for all ages and brings people out to explore the bright fall colors around the estate. The activities include giant tic tac toe, a leaf scavenger hunt, pumpkin bowling, a pumpkin hunt I-spy, and arts and crafts inside the winter garden.

“People sometimes never go through life experiencing a museum, so they’re not sure how to experience that, and so this is a easy opportunity for us to make that introduction for folks and let them see what it’s like to go through a historic house museum, learn a little bit about the Congdon family, and maybe they become museum lovers and goers for life,” said Dustin Hackman, director of Glensheen.

Glensheen is using this first Fall Children’s Day to help decide whether to continue implementing more throughout the year or try some new things.
