Restroom in Ely named “America’s Best Restroom 2025”
ELY, Min. – The best restroom in the country is in the Iron Range.
A restroom in Bear Head Lake State Park in Ely has earned the title of America’s Best Restroom 2025.
Jody Popesh, Assistant Manager of Bear Head Lake State Park was presented the award at an October 7, 2025 ceremony.
The state park restrooms earned, “a Cintas UltraClean restroom cleaning service and $2,500 in Cintas products and services for restroom cleaning or facility management to ensure their restrooms leave a clean and memorable impression.”
Along with that they’ll be honored in “America’s Best Restroom Hall of Fame.” 
Cintas said the restroom won the award because the it provides more than just function. The award was given because, “It offers thoughtful design in a stunning setting. With a fully accessible layout that meets all ADA guidelines, this facility ensures comfort for all visitors. The exterior dishwashing sinks are a camper-friendly touch, providing a convenient space to clean up without trekking back to a waterless site.”
The award was presented by Cintas. Cintas offerings including uniforms, mats, mops, towels, restroom supplies, workplace water services, first aid and safety products, eye-wash stations, safety training, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems and alarm service.
