Students Making Connections at Networking Night
SUPERIOR, Wis. — Students, faculty, and local businesses gather at UWS for the annual Networking Night inside the Yellowjacket Union.
Networking Night allows students the opportunity to meet with employers in a low-stress environment, the evening before the Fall Career and Internship Fair. The event features theatre skits, tips, headshots, and employer tables to help students practice networking skills, gather information on industries, and make connections with local employers.
“Having that dialog with a company representative, and it can be really nerve wracking, especially when it’s one student talking to one person or a company, and the great thing about this event is that it’s groups of students together talking to company reps, and so that the stress level gets to be taken down a notch or two,” said Daniel Rust, director of the School of Business and Economics UWS.
UWS encourages students to check out the job and career fair tomorrow to learn about and meet employers.
