Coffee Conversation: Duluth Honors Everyday Peacemakers with Peace Hero Awards
DULUTH, Minn. — The Waging Peace Project is flipping the script on violence with the return of the Peace Hero Awards.
Founder Diana Oestreich joined us live on the morning newscast Thursday, October 9, to share how the initiative celebrates those quietly waging peace in our community.
The $1,000 Peace Hero Award honors someone making a positive impact in Duluth, with a new Student Prize added this year.
Nominations are open now through the Waging Peace Project, and the winners will be announced November 3 at Lincoln Park Middle School — complete with a free cake buffet.
The project launched on International Day of Peace, highlighting how Duluth continues to answer national division with hope, resilience, and unity.
