After Spending First Month on Road, UMD Women’s Hockey Ready for Home Opener
UMD is vying for their 95th win all-time against Minnesota State.
DULUTH, Minn.- After almost a month on the road, the UMD women’s hockey team will finally be able to play in front of their home fans this upcoming weekend.
The Bulldogs continuing their WCHA slate by taking on the Mavericks of Minnesota State.
It’s been a while since UMD has dropped a game to Minnesota State. You have to look back all the way to February 27th of 2022 when the Mavericks last won against the Bulldogs.
Head Coach Laura Schuler says no matter what the past history says Minnesota State will still make you earn it.
“I think their work ethic. They go hard. They send two in hard on the forecheck and they don’t ever give up and they have really good goaltending as well. No matter who we’re playing against, we really want to focus on our game and the details that are going to help us be successful. So that’s what we’re trying to hone in on this weekend. Again, all the little things that we learned from last weekend to be better at so that we can really showcase the type of team that we can be this week,” said Schuler.
UMD will vie for their 95th win all-time against Minnesota State Friday at 6:02.
