FOX21 talked to Melissa Harding, one of the leads in the show, from the dressing room before her show in Davenport, Iowa.

She say it’s silly and everyone is laughing, “It’s a joyful experience.”

It’s also an interactive experience.  Harding say the audience spends two hours, “just singing their feelings”.

She continued, “And I think that’s what’s so cool. The music is so good. And I’m a songwriter myself, and I look at these songs, and I go, ‘wow’.  I mean, they wrote each of these songs.  They’re so good… It’s the fact that you can have a 6-year-old in the front row standing close to an 80-year-old, and they all know and understand different aspects of these songs.”

Harding has been doing the show for about three year.  She calls it a combination of theater, a touring band, and a party with the audience.

She encourages the crowd to dress-up in the ABBA vibe, “Have fun with it.  Be open to making it a real party for you and your friends. You can wear costumes – sing along.  We want to see you singing…. So I say, get your voices warmed up, do a little stretch and get ready to come dance and perform with us.  I mean, that’s the fun of it.”

Harding has has done a lot more than just Mania: The ABBA Tribute.

She’s has performed in musical theater and classical work.

Harding has also provided vocals for Jared Leto’s band 30 Seconds To Mars.

She has even toured with Nikki Sixx’s band SIX:A.M.
