Blatnik Bridge Project Update Meeting Held In Superior

SUPERIOR, Wis. — The Minnesota Department of Transportation held a public meeting in Superior to present community members with updates on the Blatnik Bridge project.

The presentation, which took place in front of a packed house at the Superior Public Library, gave Twin Ports residents the chance to hear some of the updates on the long
awaited project and see some concepts as to what the new bridge’s style will potentially look like.

While there’s still much to be decided, MnDOT is doing what it can to be transparent for concerned and curious area residents.

“A lot of excitement, but also a lot of concerns that we’re trying to get out and address,” said the bridge’s Wisconsin Project Director Paul Conlin. “We don’t know exactly what we’re going to build or what the contractor is going to propose.”

“We are building the proverbial sandbox that they get to work within to address the concerns that people have brought forward,” said Conlin.

The project’s management says that after this meeting they may go silent for a while, but assured folks that work behind the scenes is ongoing.
