A Sunny and Dry Weekend

It doesn’t seem that long ago that our average high temp was in the 60s, or even the 50s. Well, now that we are in the last week of October, the average high and low temps are actually 49 and 33. Man, those numbers went down quickly! It was even more shocking when the low in Duluth this morning was 21 degrees! The record low temp for today is 12 (1887), so we had a ways to go, to hit that. But the first cool/cold blasts of the fall, into winter seasons do seem to take us by surprise. It is definitely a good time to see if your vehicles’ tires, battery and cooling/heating systems are ready to go for winter. When we have the first real cold snap, down to 0 degrees, a lot of people are going to be surprised at how much their car or truck does NOT want to run, or even start.

This weekend will be a good one for raking, a last mowing, or getting the outside furniture put away. It will be mainly sunny all weekend, with highs in the 50s, and a bit of a gusty SE wind. Our next chance for precipitation will be on Tuesday. It doesn’t look like a big deal at this point. Then, we have another chance for rain on Thursday. At this point, Halloween is looking just fine for the kids, with partly sunny skies a week from today, and highs in the mid to upper 40s. Not too scary! And, I don’t seen any obvious snowfalls coming anytime soon, either. Although, that can change really quickly. We are all watching for the first big snowstorm! Oh, Boy!

Have a great weekend!
