TWO HARBORS, Minn. — Locals flooded to Two Harbors in order to give back to some of the region’s most crucial community servants.

The yearly event, brought to the Northland by the Lake County Chamber of Commerce, raises funds for first responders, and welcomed various area public officials to Two Harbors, with nearly all expressing their appreciation for those they came together to celebrate.

“We’ve done this for 20 years, (and) we feel it’s really important to get everybody in the county together to say thank you for all of our fire departments, our linemen, our ambulance all of our law enforcement, everybody that steps up all year to make sure everybody in Lake County stays safe,” said the Chamber’s President and CEO Janelle Jones.

For those who have spent time as first responders, it’s nice to see the community come together to appreciate their efforts.

“I always say my time in uniform is over, but my watch never ends, so I’m very aware of what our first responders are going through, what our law enforcement are going through, and we want to make sure that they continue their great service to the public,” said Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District Representative Pete Stauber.

The breakfast has become an annual event in Two Harbors, with this year’s edition taking place at American Legion Post 109.
